Ryman Engage – our complimentary activities programme – is about embracing opportunities and activities that are thoughtfully planned, are age and ability appropriate, and make the most of our beautiful facilities.

Ryman Engage covers all aspects of wellbeing considered important for quality of life. These include physical activity, social engagement, intellectual stimulation, creativity and embracing culture and spirituality.

Residents can join in the many activities on offer. It may be going on a group bus trip, heading off to visit an exhibition, joining one of the many interest groups, and naturally, Happy Hour is always a firm favourite.

We bring life into the villages so that people who can’t get out and about as much can still experience a lot of life and fun. Entertainers and speakers regularly visit the village to entertain our residents, and their relatives often join us for these events.

Villages can host art exhibitions, fashion shows and music and dance performances. Residents enjoy a colourful mix of visitors, such as young parents’ groups who bring children into the villages, and our residents go out into schools and help children with their reading. You’ll even come across farm animals visiting our villages!

Tailored activities include Men’s Club, a chance for blokes to get together; Musical Moments, a music programme aimed at stimulating memories and reminiscence; Mind Benders, puzzles and quizzes to encourage mental stimulation; and our ACC accredited Triple A exercise programme, aimed at keeping residents as fit and active as possible.

The key is to provide something for everyone, so that we can satisfy whatever it is that sparks your interest.
