You’re in the right place! This simple and delicious beer bread comes together with just four basic ingredients, making it the perfect go-to for fresh, warm bread without the hassle. 

Ingredients

  • 330ml beer (your choice)
  • 3 cups self-raising flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter 
  • Optional add-ins: honey, sultanas, walnuts, or any toppings you like

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 185°C bake. 
  2. In a large bowl, mix the self-raising flour and sugar. If you're adding extras like sultanas, walnuts, or honey, incorporate them now.
  3. Pour in the beer, folding the mixture gently until all the ingredients are combined. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Transfer the dough into a greased loaf tin.
  5. Add any topping you like and brush melted butter over the dough for a crispy finish.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool slightly, then serve warm with butter and your favourite toppings. Enjoy!
