As Ryman’s first retirement village, Woodcote Village holds special significance not only for the residents who live there, but also the wider Ryman family. It’s where Ryman’s pioneering journey began to provide retirement villages where people can live life to the full. In fact, Ryman’s co-founder Kevin Hickman lived on site during construction where he turned his pioneering vision into the Woodcote Village residents know and love today.
Woodcote is a boutique village with a big heart, where community is central to the lifestyle. The village’s close-knit community reflects this sentiment perfectly. It’s evident in the enthusiasm residents bring to the many events at the village. The regular outings are always popular with residents at local hotspots such as Scarborough and the Groynes – it’s a great way to stay connected and active with like-minded people.
And what is a retirement community without a little friendly rivalry between bowling clubs! The village takes part in bowling competitions with other villages which instils great camaraderie with residents. As for convenience, the village’s close proximity to the Hub Hornby means there are a wide variety of shops, amenities, cafes and restaurants at your disposal.
There's a lifestyle option to suit everyone at the village. You can choose from a townhouse to the extra support of an assisted-living apartment. If your needs change over time, our care centre provides 49 rest home care rooms. Woodcote care centre is located within the same village community and, as a Ryman resident, you will have priority access over non-residents at the time of your transfer. Should a space for the type of care the village offers be unavailable at the time of your transfer, we will do our best to accommodate you at another Ryman village that provides the level of care you need* until a space becomes available at Woodcote Village.
*Care options vary between villages, please check with our team for details of the care offered at each village.
Our independent and assisted-living residents live in spaces designed to inspire, indulge, and entertain. Assisted living in a serviced apartment offers the benefits of independent living with added support to make life easier, including housekeeping and delicious chef-prepared meals.
To retire with confidence, you need financial certainty. We're transparent about our costs, offering options to fit your ideal retirement lifestyle. No matter which option you choose, you'll know exactly what you're paying and what you'll receive in return.
We offer a choice in Deferred Management Fee (DMF), of either 30% or 25% with the latter option having a higher entry price.
You can choose between fixed or indexed weekly fees which are set at the time of signing your agreement. Indexed weekly fees are linked to the annual increase in superannuation.

This really is the hub of Hornby, with shops, supermarkets and eateries. Combining this with DressMart across the street and you won’t need to go anywhere else.
These two parks, side by side just down the road from the village, and next to The Hub Hornby provide nice wide open spaces, along with a pond, bike track and play ground for the grandchildren.
With a number of dining options, a pool room and a number of social and sports clubs, the Hornby Club is a must visit.
