En face with Royal New Zealand Ballet

We’re always looking at ways to keep up with the growing number of passions and pastimes that Ryman residents pursue. However, a love of the ballet remains a true favourite. Which is why we’ve been proud partners of the Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) since 2015.

Each year the Ryman Healthcare ballet season tours New Zealand’s main centres nationwide. Alongside this we bring the magic of the ballet into Ryman villages by creating themed activities and events. Dancers have even made special village appearances.

To offer our support further we RNZB's dancers and also offer community dance grants. Our 'Love to Dance' programme supports local dance groups across the country with three $5000 grants.

The Ryman Healthcare Season

Over the years, our season sponsorship has brought you ballet classics such as The Wizard of Oz, Romeo & Juliet, Sleeping Beauty & Cinderella. In 2023 we increased our support and became the Principal Partner of the Royal New Zealand Ballet. This signals our commitment for year-round support of the ballet and celebrates their innovation and bold, inclusive approach to the arts.

To celebrate our partnership, we involve Ryman villages throughout New Zealand by creating themed events and activities such as village balls, themed Happy Hours, quiz afternoons and visits from local ballet schools. We’re always amazed at the energy and enthusiasm residents and village team members bring to the ballet season events and activities. The magic of the ballet certainly captivates us.
